For centuries Louis Bovard has operated a winery on the shores of Lake Geneva in the canton of Vaud. The Domaine covers 17 hectares of vineyard in the Lavaux area and produces mainly Dézaley, St-Saphorin and Epesses appellations. The estate produces around 300,000 bottles annually. They already grace the wine lists of many outstanding restaurants and are served in 20 of the 35 leading hotels in Switzerland. A recent creation by Louis Bovard is Villette. Sauvignon Blanc has been grafted onto Chasselas root stock and the resulting wine is astounding! This wine has in fact been named as one of the top ten "innovative and different" wines in the entire world, by a group of experts comparing the tens of thousands of wines at Vinexpo 2005. Bovard's production is very small and most of it is taken by Switzerland's 3 star Michelin restaurants, which leaves us with a very small allocation!
