Owned by the fifth generation of the families Vache and Archimbaud who are among the oldest in Vacqueras. Their tasting cellars date back to the twelth century, a former property of the Knights Templar. The domaine consists of 25 hectares in Vacqueras and 15 in Gigondas.
Chateau Courac
The Arnaud family has been involved in making wine since 1641, handing down knowledge and expertise from father to son. Courac is situated on the right bank of the Rhône, near Tresques, a small village in the Gard district. The area is rich with ancient ruins, including vestiges of Roman settlements. The trellised vines are 30 years old and face south, growing on sandy clay hillsides above the village. They benefit from cool nights due to the proximity of densely planted forests and the grass which grows between the rows.
Domaine Guy Bernard
The young brothers, Stephane and Frederic Bernard, have worked hard to produce Côte Rôtie wines that ooze elegance and finesse and stand out from other wines produced in this appellation. They have plots of old vines in some of the best vineyards on both Côte Blonde and Côte Brune and vinify the parcels separately before carefully tasting the results and deciding what to blend.
Domaine Alain Voge
Alain Voge transformed this estate from an orchard into a specialist vineyard in the 1960's, with 12ha of vines on the hillside within the Cornas and St Péray appellations. He also undertook the replanting of parcels of land that had been left aside for decades. Each plot is vinified separately, entirely de-stemmed and fermented in small stainless steel tanks.
